Nordstrom Rack Mini Haul

A girl can never have too many shoes...right? At least, that's what I like to tell myself. After spending an hour online looking for new summer sandals, I could not find a single pair that were cute yet affordable. I decided to head over to my local Nordstrom Rack to see what I could find, and I was not disappointed.

Nordstrom Rack Haul

My mom and I stopped by Nordstrom Rack last night after buying fruit and veggies at Whole Foods). I wasn't planning on buying anything, but walked out with two pairs of shoes -_-"

One of my Ugg boots got a hole near the toe recently so I needed new winter boots. At first, I was planning on buying another pair of Uggs; although they aren't the most attractive boots ever, they certainly keep my feet warm. However, the traction sucks and I find myself slipping all the time. I found these pair of snow boots marked down from $150 to $30. They're not that stylish but it keeps my feet warm AND provides enough traction to make sure that I won't fall if there's snow/slush outside.

I also bought this pair of nude t strap flats. I actually have been eyeing these flats for a while and they finally got marked down to a reasonable price, $15! They're kind of snug (I usually wear a size 8 or 8 1/2 and these happen to be a size 8) but I'm sure that as I wear them more often, they'll stretch a little.

My mom picked out this high-low skirt for me. I like the color (white with gold sparkles) but I'm just not sure about the high-low part. It's only $6 though...

What do you guy think? Keep or return?

Recent Purchases Part II

As the title suggests, this is Part II (for Part I, click here) of my original post featuring some of my recent purchases!

I was browsing the Forever 21 site the other day when I saw this gorgeous purse. It had a few positive reviews and cost just $20, so I went ahead and bought it in red. I really like it! Obviously it's not super good quality, but for the low price I am quite satisfied. Some have compared it to J. Crew's Edie purse (which costs $238) too! This purse is still in stock and you can buy it here.

I bought this belt at Kohl's for about $5 (originally $30). I really like the design of the gold clasp...I'm not sure what I would wear with it though.

I bought this skirt for $15 (originally $32) at TJ Maxx. I'm not sure what to wear with it though, so if you have any suggestions please let me know!

This dress is from Nordstrom Rack. I really like the silver floral design as it provides a nice contrast against the black inner layer. I think I got this for around $20.

I got this Forever 21 dress for just $13! It actually came with a skinny black belt but I forgot where I put it hehe. It's kind of hard to tell but the sleeves are actually this mesh/see through fabric. I really love this dress and wish it came in more colors.

This navy lace dress was from TJ Maxx and I believe it cost around $25. I think the quality is amazing and can't wait to wear it when it's warmer out. I didn't take a picture of it but the back of the dress is much lower than the front neckline of the dress.

I was so happy when I saw that this cardigan was on sale at Marshall's for about $20! When I first saw this, I really liked it but didn't want to pay $30 (I think), so I'm glad I waited until it went on sale.

Finally, I got also got this varsity jacket from Marshall's. It's actually a men's jacket lol. I was looking for hoodies for my brother when I saw this. I thought it was really cute and even though it's a size M, it fits me perfectly (I tend to wear size XS or S). Seeing that it was only $20, I decided to buy it. I've been wearing it almost every single day since then! The fleece lining inside is super comfy :)

By the way, I apologize yet again for the awful lighting. I take pride in my photography (not the photos on my blog though; nature photography is one of my hobbies) and I cringe when I look at my recent photos. I hate to make excuses but today was rather gloomy out, hence the less than favorable lighting found in these pictures. I also haven't mastered my DSLR camera and let's face it, Photoshop does wonders when it comes to adjusting the brightness/contrast/colors. Oh well. I guess one of my resolutions for 2013 is to figure out how to take better pictures!

The Massive Post: Part III

More of my recent fashion/beauty hauls....all of the After Christmas sales left me extremely broke but very happy haha.

Gifted sweater cardigan thing...so comfy

My first 2012 splurge :) $50 biker jacket from H&M. My own picture turned out really crappy so I decided to just use the stock photo from the site...ohmygoodnessgracious I am so in love with this jacket.

Part IV won't be up for a while....I still have to edit pictures! Funnnn....

2011 Black Friday Haul

Here is my very late Black Friday haul :) I actually didn't buy that much this year, but I really love everything that I bought.

(^ yes that is a coffee stain on my closet door. long story short, I am never bringing coffee up to my room when it is cluttered with textbooks on the floor again.)

I went to the mall with my mom at 12 am because a ton of stores opened up then and I didn't want to miss any good deals. Plus, I hate waking up early....I thought it was really smart for stores to open up at 12 am rather than 4 am because so many people would rather sleep late than get up early! That being said, there were so many people at the mall and the parking lot filled up really quickly. We got to the mall at around 12:05 and we parked wayyyy in the back. Inside the mall was even more chaotic. I only went to Gilly Hicks because the lines at other stores were absolutely crazy; plus, I started having really bad cramps xD

This is the only thing I got from Gilly Hicks; it was 50% off so it ended up being $15. It's super cute! I love the lace and the ruffles and the striped ribbon :) The line was super crazy though. Thank goodness the cashiers were moving super fast. I believe I stood in line for 15-20 minutes. After that I ended up going home because my stomach hurt so bad and because my mom was really tired haha.Retail: $35 --> On sale for: $30 --> With discount: $15

Then at around 10 am that morning, I went to Nordstrom Rack. There was a 25% off coupon on Facebook  so both my mom and I printed one out. The store was pretty busy and a lot of people were running around in the shoe section (most of them were looking for uggs haha).

I bought this Steve Madden satchel. I love it so much. The color is perfect and the design is beautiful. Retail: $78 --> Selling for: $45 --> With coupon: $33 :)

My mommy also bought this coat for me! IT'S SO GORGEOUS ALFKJSLFKSAJ (the photo truly does the coat no justice...this photo was taken at night so the lighting is horrible). I kept on insisting that I didn't want it because it was rather expensive but my mom said, "Your grandma has wanted to buy you a really nice coat for some time now, and she called me the other day and told me that if we see a coat that you want, we should buy it and she'll pay for it later....so GET IT!" haha. Thank you so much grandma and mommy :) It's so warm and gorgeous and just absolutely perfect. Retail: $278 --> Selling for:  $148 --> With coupon: about $105

Then I went to DSW, which was right next door to Nordstrom Rack. I wanted a pair of combat boots but there weren't any good deals at DSW -_-" Then I headed over to the purse section and found this gorgeous satchel:

At first I  thought, "It's probably going to be around $35, which is way more than what I would pay for this. I would pay $15 tops." Then I checked the price and it was $30..but then I saw that it had a blue sticker, which meant you take an additional 70% off! So I ended up getting the purse for about $9 including tax :D Such a great deal. Retail: $54 --> Selling for: $30 --> With discount: $9

I didn't go to a lot of stores like my friends (one went to 3 different malls and at least 20 different stores!) but I'm really happy with what I got :)

Even though it's been one or two weeks since Black Friday...did you guys go Black Friday shopping? Did any crazy things happen (did you guys hear about that woman armed with pepper spray)? Any good deals? Please share! :)

Say Yes to Dresses

I'M DONE WITH MY FIRST BATCH OF COLLEGE APPS! :D I've been super stressed for the past few days and now it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. That being said, I am so behind on my posts! I literally have 11 drafts typed up; I just have to edit the pictures haha. But here's a quick post :)

I stopped by  Nordstrom Rack a day or two ago. I didn't like any of the fall clothes/shoes so I wandered over to the clearance section and found this lovely maxi dress. It's the perfect length; it's not too short so it's at an awkward length and it's not too long so that it drags on the ground (which could would cause me to trip and fall flat on my face). It was also super cheap.....$9! The original price was $98. That's 91% off! Super awesome deal. I can't wait for summer~ (Only 7 more months....*sigh*)

I also went to H&M. H&M used to be my favorite store but for the past few months, I haven't found anything that I really love :/ I love online stores more haha. I got this dress for $15 (it was on sale) and while the shape is flattering, it's a little too big around the armhole area and I'm not a fan of the color yellow...I think I'm going to return it. What do you guys think?

One last thing that I'm really excited about: I'm turning 18 on November 8th :D My mom said she already made a dinner reservation at some restaurant but won't tell me where :( We're actually celebrating tonight because my birthday falls on a school day and my mom doesn't want to go out for dinner on a school night haha :P I'm okay with it though; I'm still getting presents, eating cake, and all that hooplah on that day :) I'm surprised that I'm this excited because usually I don't like making a big deal out of my birthday...but you only turn 18 once right? Can't waitttt!

Nordstrom Rack Haul

I absolutely loathe Nordstrom Rack....because every single time I go there, my wallet becomes 10x lighter :(
I did some pretty bad damage this week, but I feel it was all worth it :P

I adore capes. Or rather, the cape-like coat trend. I have been looking for one since last year because there's just something about capes that makes anyone who wears one look effortlessly cool :P I saw this cape at the last minute when we (my mom and I) were standing in line... this was really hard to photograph (the photo turned out really bad) but nevertheless, I think it's a keeper :)

I'm in love with these flats. first of all, the color is gorgeous...in the first photo it looks like it's cyan (the color is wayy overexposed...) but it's actually a beautiful, light shade of turquoise in real life, as seen in the second photo. The bow with the gold detail make it even more perfect. It's made of 100% leather...even the soles are made of leather. It fits perfectly. These are Ivanka Trump flats, and her shoes are always super cute, comfortable, and made of extremely great quality :D

Haha, yes, I know, Uggs are ugly....yet they were also incredibly warm. These are my 2nd pair of Uggs and while no, they are not getting any prettier, they are incredibly comfy and warm and perfect for the winter time.  The color is also fairly unique, which is why I opted for this color instead of the other ones.

Skinny jeans! I can never have too many skinny jeans. These are the perfect fit and were on clearance...I'm still on the hunt for the perfect dark wash skinny jeans though!

Altogether, I spent too much money. Way more than I ever thought I would spend in a month, let alone in a day. But after careful consideration I decided to keep everything haha :)

And hence starts my effort to avoid Nordstrom Rack for the next few months.....:P

I ♥ Shoes

Gahhh this summer has been so incredibly busy >:( I haven't even finished a single one of my summer assignments...this is getting ridiculous.

I haven't been able to do anything fun for the past few weeks. I'm volunteering, taking summer classes, and sleeping. Oh, and watching Pretty Little Liars...my new favorite show, haha. I absolutely adore the clothes Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily wear on that show!

Anywayyyy, I recently bought 2 pairs of shoes. A month ago, I went to Nordstrom Rack and fell in love with these shoes. My mom actually bought them for me, despite the $80 price tag (I don't buy shoes that cost more than $40).

Howeverrrrr, despite how gorgeous these shoes are, I decided to return them :( I thought it was still a tad too expensive and I have literally 11 pairs of summery shoes in my closet (not including the ones I wear on a daily basis) that have not seen the light of day since last summer. It turned out to be a good decision though....read on! Haha.

A few days ago, my mom and I went to a mall that is somewhat far from my house- probably an hour and a half round trip? It's the best! I seriously love that place- unlike the usual mall setting, where all the stores are indoors, it's basically an outdoor shopping center. They have a huge variety of shops, from the cheaper end (Claire's, Hollister) to the luxurious end (LV, Burberry). I primarily went to the mall so I could stop by Anthropologie...I have visited their online site a billion times but never went inside the actual store before.

It's seriously become my new favorite store. Everything about it is wonderful- the store layout, the clothes, the shoes, the customer service, and yes, even the fitting rooms. Love. I saw a few things that I liked, but I am unwilling to pay $180 for a dress (at this point in time...:P). So I wandered into the sale room....and almost died when I saw the most perfect lace up wedge boot I have ever seen sitting on a shelf. I grabbed the single boot and quickly found someone to grab the other one from the storage room. I didn't even look at the size (bahahaha); I wanted the shoes so bad! When I had both shoes I looked at the size, and it said 39. I almost died (again) right then and there- I fall between a size 39 and 40 so I wasn't sure if it would fit...but it did :)

The photos honestly don't do the shoes justice....but still, aren't they gorgeous? :D The best part? It is made of leather...and was on sale for only $40 as it was the only pair left! I found a site online that said it was originally $172...that's about 75% off! :O

Bleh...I'm super behind on all of my posts @_@ I have so many pictures from the last few months (yes, months) I still have to edit!

Curse you, busy summers, curse you.

Nordstrom Rack Purchases

Today my mom and I went to Nordstrom Rack. We were short on time and had only 30 minutes to shop, so I immediately went to the shoe section. I have been searching for the perfect pair of boots, preferably leather, for a really really really long time. This pair of boots caught my eye! It's gorgeous <3 And after all the markdowns, it ended up being only $34.95, which I think is a great deal as it is made of genuine leather :D

Excuse my messy bed and cat humidifier :P

I also bought a faux leather jacket.

At first I thought it was real leather, because it was felt like real, buttery leather...but I checked the materials, and it wasn't real leather. Oh well, for $17.98 I'm not complaining...especially since it was originally $78,  marked down to $30, marked down to $18. I'm still debating whether I should keep it because I don't know when I would wear it ._."

I have been restricting myself from buying many more things because I am currently saving up my money so I can buy a Canon DSLR to replace the Canon Powershot SD1100 I have now. I love my Powershot to death, but I want a DSLR so, so bad. Hopefully I can find a job over the summer!
