Anthropologie, DSW, and F21 Haul

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates :X I have been so busy with work and classes this past week that I barely had time to sit down and breathe. Needless to say I missed blogging quite a bit :) I am quite behind on my Taiwan/Japan posts and will probably only put a few more up when I have time to dig through my photos and edit them all. However, I have so many other posts to put up (I have 7 drafts right now) and I want to start doing OOTDs and reviews again as it's been highly requested from a lot of readers...

In any case, today I'm going to share a few purchases I bought over the last week.

I stopped by Anthropologie with my mom the other day. My mom found this gorgeous top for only $8! So crazy; I rarely see Anthropologie clothes marked down to $15, let alone $8. The price tag actually said it was on sale for $35 but when we got to the register we found out that it was only $8....again, so crazy. We're the same size so I'll definitely be stealing it :)

As for me, I bought this beautiful and soft seafoam green sweater. I love the silver accents! This was on sale for $25. This is actually a size Large and I'm a size small, but it actually fits quite well and in any case I love baggy sweaters.

This pair of gorgeous brown boots was purchased for $50 at DSW. I love my black pair of combat boots and so I wanted more in all sorts of different colors! I picked brown first because I love the look of brown combat boots and a floral dress. Sadly I currently only own one floral dress but I know I'll buy more in the near future.

I bought this pair of earrings for about $2 at Forever 21. I rarely wear sparkly jewelry but I love the rose gold color and the design. Plus it was only $2!

Hope you enjoyed my haul! And don't forget to enter my giveaway (which ends soon!) here!

Heels for a Penny!

*Disclaimer: the shoes mentioned in this post were purchased with my own money*

I love DSW. Like seriously LOVE DSW.
Their customer service may not be the greatest, as I have found out in the past, but I forgive them. Because seriously...where else can I purchase shoes that cost only one penny?!

DSW sent out an email (if you are a rewards member, be sure to check your inbox!) offering $10 off any $10+ purchase. I figured if I couldn't find a pair of shoes that I liked, I could always buy socks or something. So I was so happy when I found a pair of gorgeous heels for 80% off!

These heels were originally $60 but sold at DSW for $45. It had a yellow sticker on it, which means that there is an additional 80% off discount, making the shoes only $9. With my $10 off discount, I ended up (happily) paying one cent. The photos do not do the shoes justice...the lighting was terrible since I took these pictures at night -_-"

I'm 5'6" and already tower over the majority of my friends, and with these heels I'll easily be around 5'10"  hehe.

So yeah, if you're not a DSW rewards member already, you should definitely consider signing up to be one. They already sell all of their shoes at a reduced price (think Marshall's or Nordstrom Rack) and on top of that, their clearance section is pretty awesome :)

DSW/Thrift Store/Marshall's Purchases

Wow, this past week has just sucked. Between the insane amount of schoolwork that I had to make up (I missed a week of school because I had the stomach flu) and the different scholarship/financial aid essays that I had to write, I somehow also managed to catch a cold....just days after I finished recovering from the stomach flu. Awesome. On the other hand, the weather here in the Midwest has been amazing! Last week was freezing cold; I had to wear about 2598273582 layers and a huge puffy down coat to stay warm. These past few days, however, have been wonderful....it feels like spring is already here :)

These are just a few things that I have bought this month. I will post the rest of it as soon as possible!

I bought these heels at DSW for 1 penny. That's right, 1 cent! These Rampage heels were originally priced at $50 but sold at DSW for $40. I found these on the clearance rack with a yellow sticker, which meant that you could take an additional 80% off, bringing the total down to $8. On top of that, I had a $10 off coupon that DSW sent to me (perhaps because I recently signed up for their rewards program?) so I was able to get these shoes for a penny, after taxes! The guy who run up my purchase told me, "Wow, it must be your lucky day...you just bought shoes for a penny!" Haha :)

I bought this crochet vest at a local thrift store that I recently discovered. I saw a couple of crochet vests online but they were all $15+, which I wasn't quite ready to pay. So I'm really happy that I found this vest for $4; I think it'll be perfect over my ever-growing collection of maxi dresses.

My favorite part about the thrift store isn't the clothes though...it's the super cheap magazines and books! I bought these magazines for 50 cents each. These aren't super recent, I believe the Marie Claire magazines and the Elle magazine are 3-4 months old. I love reading magazines though, so I evidently didn't care about the date of the magazines. I also picked up a copy of People magazine, which was surprisingly the one released during the week that I bought it. In the past, I have also purchased a few Chicken Soup for the Soul books for just 50 cents...and they were absolutely brand new!

Finally, a maxi dress from Marshal's. It was on clearance for $7 and I couldn't not buy it! I cannot wait for summer to arrive...

Hope you all are having a much better week than I am! :)

The (Not So) Massive Post: Part IV

Wow, it's been a while since I last updated my blog! ><" Almost a month, actually...unfortunately, it's the same excuse- I've been super busy with school, my jobs, church, etc. I hope to start blogging more often, though. I really miss it!

Oh, and here's a big HELLO to my new followers! :)

Anyway, here's the super duper late The Massive Post: Part IV! Better late than never, right? I added the (not so) because as I mentioned a while back, I can't find any of the pictures from my birthday >:( So here are the pictures of what I got for Christmas. I only asked for chocolate and money so I was surprised to find out that I still got a few other small things :)

Gahhh I love this cup so much :)  I love the size of it, I love the floral print, I love the color, and I love the "J" printed on it :) And yes, it's supposed to be slightly crooked haha. That just makes me love it even more! I actually told my mom not to buy me any clothes/shoes from Anthropologie for Christmas because it's way too expensive; although the designs are breathtakingly gorgeous, I just can't justify spending $200 on a dress, especially since I'm going to college next year and those fees will add up to some ridiculous amount of money. So my mom didn't get me clothes/shoes from Anthropologie...but she got me a cup! :)

Combat boots <3 I love these so much. My mom told me to pick out a pair of shoes and since I have wanted a pair of black combat boots since forever, I chose this pair of Wanted boots from DSW.com. They're super comfortable! When my friends (and even my parents!) saw me wearing these, they all told me that they didn't think I would like combat boots but that I pulled it off really well...so I guess that's a good thing? Haha :)

Okay, you don't even understand how excited I was to receive these! This series is amazing! lsafjlskfj;slafj; lfkj I am so happy I own all of them now; I think my local library was getting fed up with all of my renewal requests for these book! My brothers pulled money together to buy me these books and I'm forever in their debt. Just kidding.

I'm not a fan of the cover in the middle, and honestly the third cover looks a bit cheesy....but the first cover? LOVE.

Finally, chocolate! Anddd a few sour apple-flavored candy canes. They sound  a little disgusting but they were really good.

Anddd that's what I got :) Excluding the money, of course. I had so much fun buying presents for everyone this year; I didn't have a chance to take pictures of what I bought but it was a fairly random mix of items! Skincare products, toys, drumsticks, makeup, socks, etc....Overall, Christmas was amazing!

....it feels kind of weird typing that sentence, since Christmas was over a month ago....smh.

2011 Black Friday Haul

Here is my very late Black Friday haul :) I actually didn't buy that much this year, but I really love everything that I bought.

(^ yes that is a coffee stain on my closet door. long story short, I am never bringing coffee up to my room when it is cluttered with textbooks on the floor again.)

I went to the mall with my mom at 12 am because a ton of stores opened up then and I didn't want to miss any good deals. Plus, I hate waking up early....I thought it was really smart for stores to open up at 12 am rather than 4 am because so many people would rather sleep late than get up early! That being said, there were so many people at the mall and the parking lot filled up really quickly. We got to the mall at around 12:05 and we parked wayyyy in the back. Inside the mall was even more chaotic. I only went to Gilly Hicks because the lines at other stores were absolutely crazy; plus, I started having really bad cramps xD

This is the only thing I got from Gilly Hicks; it was 50% off so it ended up being $15. It's super cute! I love the lace and the ruffles and the striped ribbon :) The line was super crazy though. Thank goodness the cashiers were moving super fast. I believe I stood in line for 15-20 minutes. After that I ended up going home because my stomach hurt so bad and because my mom was really tired haha.Retail: $35 --> On sale for: $30 --> With discount: $15

Then at around 10 am that morning, I went to Nordstrom Rack. There was a 25% off coupon on Facebook  so both my mom and I printed one out. The store was pretty busy and a lot of people were running around in the shoe section (most of them were looking for uggs haha).

I bought this Steve Madden satchel. I love it so much. The color is perfect and the design is beautiful. Retail: $78 --> Selling for: $45 --> With coupon: $33 :)

My mommy also bought this coat for me! IT'S SO GORGEOUS ALFKJSLFKSAJ (the photo truly does the coat no justice...this photo was taken at night so the lighting is horrible). I kept on insisting that I didn't want it because it was rather expensive but my mom said, "Your grandma has wanted to buy you a really nice coat for some time now, and she called me the other day and told me that if we see a coat that you want, we should buy it and she'll pay for it later....so GET IT!" haha. Thank you so much grandma and mommy :) It's so warm and gorgeous and just absolutely perfect. Retail: $278 --> Selling for:  $148 --> With coupon: about $105

Then I went to DSW, which was right next door to Nordstrom Rack. I wanted a pair of combat boots but there weren't any good deals at DSW -_-" Then I headed over to the purse section and found this gorgeous satchel:

At first I  thought, "It's probably going to be around $35, which is way more than what I would pay for this. I would pay $15 tops." Then I checked the price and it was $30..but then I saw that it had a blue sticker, which meant you take an additional 70% off! So I ended up getting the purse for about $9 including tax :D Such a great deal. Retail: $54 --> Selling for: $30 --> With discount: $9

I didn't go to a lot of stores like my friends (one went to 3 different malls and at least 20 different stores!) but I'm really happy with what I got :)

Even though it's been one or two weeks since Black Friday...did you guys go Black Friday shopping? Did any crazy things happen (did you guys hear about that woman armed with pepper spray)? Any good deals? Please share! :)
