Hi everyone! I decided to separate the Taiwan haul into two parts so that one part is dedicated to food, while the second part is dedicated to everything else :P Anyway, I love Taiwanese food. All of it...from main dishes to dessert to random snacks to special fruit. I really wish I could visit Taiwan again to eat all of the food that I miss so dearly, but the second best thing is for my mom to bring back a ton of delicious food. Trust me when I say she brought a ton back. It covered the entire dining room table! I'm only showing my own share of the snacks...we divided the snacks up among the kids so no one would complain of getting less than someone else ^^ The rest of the food is for everyone to eat whenever they want! :D
here's a photo of my share of snacks...the bar on the bottom left is some sort of a sweet almond snack bar. My brother already ate his and said that it is really good, so I'm looking forward to trying it~! The huge bag in the back, with the yellow kid, is this crispy noodle thing. LOL it sounds gross, but it's not really crispy noodles. It's like...I dunno. It's really good though. I already ate some mochi/pineapple cakes, so that's why there is only a few in this photo. The photo of the pineapple cakes didn't turn out well so I won't be posting it...but they are so so so so good. And expensive @_@ But they are so delicious and amazing ♥ The photo of the mochi didn't turn out well either :( But they are amazing as well, and everyone in my family agrees that it's one of the best packaged mochi we have ever had. I'll go into detail of the food items I didn't mention here...
We have Hello Panda snacks in this Asian store nearby, but I was still happy to see it because it's so delicious, and definitely cheaper in Taiwan. I'm super excited to try the one in the middle though! I can't tell what the flavor is...it looks like a picture of a Japanese cheesecake :D I've made Japanese cheesecakes before and they are so delicious, so I'm curious to see what it will taste like.
OMG THIS STUFF IS SO GOOD. It's sugar cane! It's kind of hard but really sweet and delicious. My parents think it's too sweet haha. In fact, we weren't sure if we were supposed to just eat it like a snack or do something with it ._. Here's a close up of the actual sugar cane:
And finally, moving on to the caramels!
The one on the left is a red bean flavored caramel, the one on the right is milk caramel. My mom always buys us this box of milk caramels whenever she visits Taiwan, so it's kind of a tradition for her to bring them back. they're really good and really cheap. I never had the one on the left before though...to be honest, when I first saw it, I thought "That's disgusting...red bean caramels?!?!?!??!". I tried some and to be surprise they are incredibly delicious! It's not really a caramel, not at all. More like a chewy candy. It tastes exactly like a red bean. So, so good. I hope my mom will start bringing us back both the red bean and the milk caramels every time she visit Taiwan! :)
Part 2 will be coming soon! ♥
