Ingredients: Water, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Isostearyl Palmitate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraethylhexanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Hexylene Glycol, PEG 4 Laurate, PEG 6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Sucrose Cocoate, Carbomer, Sodium Hydroxide, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetate Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Fragrance
Packaging: It's basically a blue, plastic container with a snap lid. Inside, there is a plastic packet of 25 towelettes. The packet itself has a re-usable sticker seal on it, so that the towelettes inside don't dry out. It seems like it's really sticky and thus useful...however, I wouldn't know because I completely missed the fact that there was a re-usable sticker on the front, and ended up cutting the packet open with scissors...haha. Don't make my mistake, because then I had to take a sandwich baggie, put the packet inside, and then secure it with a rubber band, and then put it in the container :P It worked though, because all of the towelettes are still moist!
Contents: Inside the container, you have a packet of 25 moist towelettes. The towelettes are 7.4" x 7.2". They're really big!
How to use it: According to the website, you "gently wipe your face with a towelette, removing dirt and all traces of face and eye make-up. Do not rinse. Dispose of the towelette in a trash receptacle (do not flush)". However, for me, I still wash my face afterward because I don't like the thought of having a layer of all these chemicals on my face.
Pros:
1. The re-usable sticker: The sticker is really sticky, so it definetly prevents the towelettes from drying out.
2. The size of the towelettes: They are really big and thick! For those who wear heavy makeup, these are perfect.
3. Refreshing feeling: It doesn't feel like you are putting grease on your face, which I know is the case with a lot of makeup removers.
4. Removed all of my makeup: The towelettes really do "dissolve all traces of makeup". It removed my concealer, blush, highlighter, and powder foundation. I do want to mention that I use a really, really light amount of powder foundation because I have good skin, so I can't tell you if it will remove a heavy amount of foundation. For me though, it did the job.
5. Scent: There is a slight floral scent but it's not strong, and doesn't linger.
Cons:
1. The plastic container: It's not 100% air tight, so if you aren't careful, the towelettes might dry out. I've been reading some reviews on it, and that seemed to happen to many people.
2. Breakouts!: After using this for 4 days, I had 2 pimples. I was shocked because as I have stated before, I have been blessed with near-flawless skin and almost never get pimples. If I do, it's a small one on my nose and goes away in a day. After using this product continually for 4 days however, I broke out on my cheek, and my face was fairly red. I freaked out and used my favorite My Beauty Diary mask, and the pimples went away in 3 day. Still, it was a horrifying experience ><
3. The size of the towelettes: Yeah, I know I said this was a pro, but it is also a con. I had to literally cut the towelettes with scissors because I ended up wasting an entire towelette when I really only used less than 50% of it.
4. May sting eyes: I haven't tried removing my mascara and eyeliner using this product, because I already have an eye makeup remover. Some other online reviewers stated that they experienced stinging, while some said that they did not experience pain or discomfort of any sort. I guess it depends on the person using it.
Overall: I give it a 4/10. I am not happy that it broke me out and cause certain areas of my face to be red, and so I immediately stopped using it. I gave it to my mom, and she likes it, so I guess it wasn't a wasted purchase ^^ I bought a different makeup remover, and I will review that soon!
hi :)
ReplyDeleteomg! I'm so glad I read this because I was on the search for make-up removing wipes. I use the body shop tea tree cleansing wipes, they're pretty awesome. But they're $12, not too bad but I'm looking for a cheaper alternative and I was going to pick this one! I guess not though, seems risky.
thanks for the good post :)

ReplyDeleteno problem :) If you're looking for makeup removing wipes, I recommend checking out your local Costco. They have these supposedly amazing wipes...a blogger posted a review of them here: http://ahleessa4realz.blogspot.com/2011/02/kirkland-wipes-and-ulta-event.html
They're cheap, and you get a lot for your money! I'm planning on buying them after I finish using my Pond Deep Cleanser Cold Cream :)
