Wow, this past week has just sucked. Between the insane amount of schoolwork that I had to make up (I missed a week of school because I had the stomach flu) and the different scholarship/financial aid essays that I had to write, I somehow also managed to catch a cold....just days after I finished recovering from the stomach flu. Awesome. On the other hand, the weather here in the Midwest has been amazing! Last week was freezing cold; I had to wear about 2598273582 layers and a huge puffy down coat to stay warm. These past few days, however, have been wonderful....it feels like spring is already here :)
These are just a few things that I have bought this month. I will post the rest of it as soon as possible!
I bought these heels at DSW for 1 penny. That's right, 1 cent! These Rampage heels were originally priced at $50 but sold at DSW for $40. I found these on the clearance rack with a yellow sticker, which meant that you could take an additional 80% off, bringing the total down to $8. On top of that, I had a $10 off coupon that DSW sent to me (perhaps because I recently signed up for their rewards program?) so I was able to get these shoes for a penny, after taxes! The guy who run up my purchase told me, "Wow, it must be your lucky day...you just bought shoes for a penny!" Haha :)
I bought this crochet vest at a local thrift store that I recently discovered. I saw a couple of crochet vests online but they were all $15+, which I wasn't quite ready to pay. So I'm really happy that I found this vest for $4; I think it'll be perfect over my ever-growing collection of maxi dresses.
My favorite part about the thrift store isn't the clothes though...it's the super cheap magazines and books! I bought these magazines for 50 cents each. These aren't super recent, I believe the Marie Claire magazines and the Elle magazine are 3-4 months old. I love reading magazines though, so I evidently didn't care about the date of the magazines. I also picked up a copy of People magazine, which was surprisingly the one released during the week that I bought it. In the past, I have also purchased a few Chicken Soup for the Soul books for just 50 cents...and they were absolutely brand new!
Finally, a maxi dress from Marshal's. It was on clearance for $7 and I couldn't not buy it! I cannot wait for summer to arrive...
Hope you all are having a much better week than I am! :)

I know! :) And I absolutely agree. I usually hate cutting out pictures from my fashion magazines, but I'm okay with cutting out pictures from old People magazines! They all go on my inspiration board haha.
